    EAA Windicator

    Hello:

I am curious to know what people think about the EAA revolver known as the Windicator, in 38 special. I have a friend who is interested in purchasing his first handgun, partially for self defense but also to take along with me when we go shooting at the range. I have seen the Windicator in magazine catalogs and understand it may be Italian in origin (is this correct?). Anyhow, what are some people's experience with this revolver?

    Much appreciated!

Gun-Tests magazine gave them a pretty good rating in an article I read a couple years ago when I had a subscription. There was one at Turner's in Norwalk I believe last year on consignment, went to go check it out and it felt pretty good. They wanted 3 something for it it and it was pretty dogged up. The trigger pull was not bad, pretty big though for a snubnose though, dimensionaly from what I remember. It is California DOJ approved http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/safeguns_resp.asp

There's a place that advertised them for $249.99 for a brand new one. I was thinking of trying it out, but, for that price.........it can't be that bad......can it?

If it's made by the same German mfg as the EAA single actions revolvers (Weihrauch), it should be a good one. I own 4 of the Bounty Hunters and they've stood up to many CAS shoots without much of a hitch.

Most gun rags rated the Vindicator (as it was 1st named) as on a par with Rossi. The only one approved looks like the shorty .38 spl right?
