    Sig Sights.......

Hello all, just a quick question...

will Trijicon Night Sights for Sig P226 work on a P6. The # on the Trijicons is H3 00. They are used but priced very low... ok FREE.. and I cant see the front plain sights on the P6 very well so I wanted to put these on for now until I can get new night sights. I didn't want to take them for this person if they wont fit. Any help would be much appreciated.....

    Thanks

No! The smaller framed P6, for smaller framed hands, takes smaller sights for the smaller frame. You just need to open up that bank vault of yours and spend some of that cash in there. By the way, what are you doing up at this time of the night....or morning? I thought that your bank opens up at 8am. Besides....a banker accepting something for free and on the other end refusing to lend $$$ to folks in need.......Bad banker!

Are those the sight heights? I'm used to seeing numbers like 8 or 6 (on both Mepro and Trijicon). I believe I have Trijicons on my KF P226 and it says 8 (front and rear).

If they are sight heights, what does H3 00 mean? (for my future reference).

I took white hobby paint to my P6 front and back sights, sort of looks like a bar/U now. Painted the outside of the back sight leaving the indents metal colored. Gives a good reference for my bad up close vision.

          This is WRONG information.

Sig sights are interchangable. They will vary the heights based on the caliber. If you go to any website you will see that the P225, P226, P228 are all lumped together. The P220s, P229 will be lumped in a different category. This is because 9mm guns will typically get #8, #8 for the front and rear while the .40 and up caliber guns get #6 front, #8 rears.

Even so, the sights for the P220, P225, P226, P228, P229 will ALL fit on each other. The dovetail dimensions are the same. My P226 has a #8 front, #9 rear. My brothers P226 german Sig has a #6 front, #8 rear. Theyre all interchangeable.

I took a P226 night sight and put it on my P225(same as a P6). No issues at all.
          Aloha snackbar!

Yes, Sig sights are all interchangeable. The front sights are based on the "height" of the sights due to the point of impact. Lower the number=higher the sight.

The last two numbers on the Trijicons indicate the year of manufacture (00 = 2000). The sights will work just fine. Good luck.

I was emiling this person and it's was asked what # are on the sights and he said H3 00, I didn't know what that meant either. I know what #6 #8 and so on means but didn't know what he meant. I am sure he only looked at the lettering in white, not the stamped #. I will have to ask again.

Thanks for the info I appreciate it very much. I guess these would be better then the ones that are on the pistol at the moment as long as the # are not to far off. Thanks again..

Night sights made in 2000 will be kind of dim, perhaps you have better eyes then I do.

As for numbering system, it's just different height that allow you to change the elevation of the bullet impact point. As other has said, typically for 9mm they use #8 front and #8 back, while with .40 and .45 they use #6 front and #8 back. However, if you want to further change the elevation, you can use other number to achieve the result you desired. Factory does suggest to change rear first instead of front sight. It's also very simple to remember: Lower the number on either front or rear sight will result in lower impact point, and vise-versa.
