    Adjustable Sight Options for 1911s?

Just like my title says, what are some good adjustable sight options for 1911s?
I have bad eyesight and really do well with stock Sig bar dot style sights, but I have not found anything similar in an adjustable format.

Also, since my slide is cut for adjustable sights, I have to use them to fill the gap correct? Or are there other solutions for that?

    Thanks friends.

Check out what Dawson Sights has available for your model gun. I'm sure they will have a "Bo-mar cut" sight and their fiber optic front sights are just what older eyes need.

What kind of "adjustable sight" cuts do you have on your 1911?

      Bo-mar, LPA, Champion, Novak, etc.

I am a young guy with bad eyes.
The gun in question is a Springfield TRP Operator, it has adjustable tritium sights, but they are a little small for my tastes.

I believe TRP Ops already have Bomar clones.

I'm pretty certain it is actually an LPA sight cut. Similar to the Bo-Mar, but not an exact duplicate.

I have really crappy eyesight too. Fiber optic front sights work best for me. I go with the larger .060" rod not the .040", it's easier to see. I had a EGW front sight on my kimber gold match and it worked well. You just send them your slide and they install it for about $20 I think the kimber front is the same as the springfield. Mark

Do they offer rear adjustable fiber sights too?

EGW can certainly source whatever you like, if they don't already have it, and fix it up for you. They are GTG!

On the rear you don't really need fiber optic. On my kimber custom I have an all black bomar rear sight with a fiber optic front. The gold match I had was set up the same way using a kimber factory rear sight. My kimber custom is set up almost identical to this pic. My front sight is the same but my rear is an actual bomar.

Yeah it makes sense since you only focus on the front sight, it would just be nice to get fibers to help me pick up the notch faster. It is ok though, I will look into it a bit more.

One thing about FO front sights: Some FO front sights are nothing more than HUGE fireballs. I find it hard to aim with these. I much prefer the FO sights that are actually front sights with a FO cable running thru them. Gives me hard edges to aim with. YMMV.

ETA: Like these http://www.dawsonprecision.com/Categ...+Hi-Cap+5+inch Just enough FO to aid the eye in acquisition, but still enough front sight to aim accurately.

You might want to also consider TruGlos TFOs sights. They are a fiber optic/tritium front and rear sight package.

I have had them on my XDSC9mm for over 2 years and have never had a problem with them. I carry the gun daily in a Crossbreed Supertuck (IWB). That is a Kydex holster with a leather backing.

They have never come loose and they are as bright now as they were when I bought them. Plus, you have the advantage of FO during the day and Tritium for night use. You can get them in different color combos also; i.e. green/green, green/yellow, yellow/yellow. They might might come in red also, but I don't know. I have the green/green as they are the easiest to see IMO.
