    square recoil spring for 1911??

I have noticed, in a catalog I get, a square shaped recoil spring for 1911s that is supposed to compress better than the traditional round spring. Anyone know anything about that or have any experience with one??

if the corners are square i would think it would be more prone to breakage. Answer to a problem that does not exist.

Have you noticed a problem with your round recoil spring compressing abnormally?

just like the stupid shok buff kits and the stupid 2-piece guide rods. (i have a 2pc guide rod fwiw it came in the pistol) They probably don't do a damned thing but make someone money.

Well now that you mention it, it keeps compressing in a cylindrical fashion. It's a problem with my anti round OCD issues though.

No, I haven't had any problems, and no, I'm not about to run out and fix a non-problem. I thought the idea of a squared recoil spring was odd so I'm simply inquiring about it, that is all.
