EMP back from Warranty/Custom work *Pics*

Sent in my S.A. EMP for some warranty & custom work. Total turnaround time was approximately 2 weeks. S.A. customer service is amazing. The following work was done:

1. Replace front Trijicon sight. (warranty)
2. Recut Barrel Ramp (warranty)
3. Ream chamber (warranty)
4. Polish ramp (warranty)
5. Action job 4-4.5 lbs (Custom)
6. Install non ambi safety (Custom)
7. Install non ILS-MSH (Custom)

I also purchased Monkey Grips from Larry Davidson. These are 4x4 over Warthog G10 panels.

Who'd think a little gun like this could keep rounds in the ten ring at 25 yards on a B-27 target?

Was your gun not functioning? Mine is running fine with most all the HP's I can find in all the bullet wts. I need my ambi (lefthanded) but I do like those 4x4 grip panels you put on.

My gun would not feed any hollow points. Seems to be okay now, but needs further testing.

The front sight was installed improperly. It was uneven, and had metal shavings on the right side. S.A. replaced it at no charge. Thanks for the info on the 30% sale.

I really like the EMP for what it is. Out of curiosity, why would you take the Ambi safety off of the gun and go single sided safety?

After quite a bit of thought and testing, I didn't think that I really needed it.

-I am right handed.
-Paranoid of accidentally disabling the ambi safety when carrying. (a good rub or bump is all it would take)
-Wanted the pistol as slim as possible.
-Nothing to snag on the outer side when carrying or during a draw.
-Worse case scenario I can disable the safety with my left index finger.

If for some reason I see or am convinced that I should have it, then I will put it back on.

Great video. I got mine specifically for the "off duty" competition at the NRA National Police Shooting Championship. After firing it and and carrying around for a day or two, I decided to add it to my CCW. I do not feel the least bit under-gunned.
For those of you that just have to have a defensive pistol that starts with "4", the EMP now comes in the same package only chambered for .40S&W. I haven't shot one yet, but I bet it's a handful.

Fair enough on the reasons you listed. I wouldn't want any issues snagging either especially in a life or death situation. I just have an XD9SC for carry w/o safeties so I understand that whole concept. Nice looking piece that i'd love to have in my collection one day.

You must really enjoy shooting the EMP competitively. It is so addictive to shoot, almost perfect. I feel like I have to shoot it every weekend. I wish I could carry mine in CA., but I only have my Utah CCW permit.

I also have an XD9SC, which is also a great pistol, very accurate. My other CCW pistols are Glock 27 and Colt Mustang Plus II. If you get a chance to pick up an EMP, you will not be disappointed.

Just to keep skills sharp I compete with the EMP in our local steel matches. I refer to it as my "Noisey Cricket" after the little gun with a big bang in the movie Men in Black. The EMP is an amazing piece of equipment.
Because of the short barrel, muzzle flip is minimal so shot to shot is pretty quick. It's not cheap, but quality rarely is.
