    Springfield Armory 1911-A1 new components

SO i recently upgraded my GI with a new hammer, grip safety and trigger.

everything went smoothly aside from sanding the trigger and grip safety for a perfect fit.

How can I refinish the grip safety so that the bare metal doesn't show? Is there a bluing kit available?

Although i've only dry fired it, I cant believe the improvement in trigger pull!!! with just a few parts.

actually the raw metal finish is kind of growing on me. It matches the sides of the hammer. Thinking about giving it a good polish with the dremel.

Can I leave it this way? Is there something I should apply to the metal to keep the look but also protect it?
