New OC Sherriff, CCW friendly?

That would be awesome for O.C. residents. I'm hoping we can get a pro-CCW sheriff elected in San Diego, as well.

"Personal defense" is a perfectly valid reason for wanting a CCW. Sheriffs should not decline to issue permits unless they have reasonable suspicion that it will be misused. I, as a citizen, should not have to prove desperate need or unusual circumstances--only that I am a responsible citizen (which my lack of a criminal record shows.)

Upon retirement will Hunter also be receiving a paycheck from APD as Hutchinson receives one from LASO, of course, So that is a wash. Know OC politics--without the blessings of the Lincoln Club, no one gets elected to county office. Witness the last sheriff election in OC, not to mention the Nguyen vs. Nguyen board of supervisers contest. One Nguyen took the little saigon vote hands down and still lost.

Yep. Incumbant always wins the 3-way race.

Gun owners already had a progun candidate, Bill Hunt. All Hunter does is spoils the election in Hutchens favor. Anaheim style policing doesnt work in South Orange County.

Craig Hunter represents a refreshing view in a candidate.

Craig Hunter doesn't have an OCSD personnel file full of demotions, investigations, grand jury involvement, and shameful retirement. He also didn't sue the department he's running to run, or have his lawsuit tossed out.

Craig Hunter doesn't have the baggage of the Haidl and Stevenson matters which will be called out.

Responsible voting to dismiss the current appointed Sheriff does require a unified front.

Wanting Mr. Hunt to be elected is nice - unfortunately, the sooner Mr. Hunt realizes he will not be elected by the population of OC, the sooner we can unite the vote.
