    5.45 AR Pistol

Does anyone here have an AR pistol in 5.45?

I saw on the model 1 sales website that they have 11" uppers in 5.45 but was wondering if any Calgunners have any experiences with these.

Not an AR pistol, but SBR'd in other states.

    Here's an opinion.

Can you get 9mm ammo for 13 cents a round? The only reason I can think of for having an AR in .22 long rifle is if you like being able to have your AR lower handy without a bullet button. I used to think caliber conversion units were handy until reason and logic took over. Trying to make a gun do things it wasn't designed for usually makes for an expensive gadget that isn't practical. Today I would rather have a separate gun in whatever caliber. In some countries where you are only permitted to have a certain number of guns it may make sense to have caliber conversion units.

          DO NOT GET/BUILD A PISTOL IN 5.45

Pistols are not supposed to be armor piercing / steel core ammunition. IF the ATF sees all these shenanigans going on , all that " cheap " 5.45 ammo will be banned from importation. Same way as I believe it was Olympic arms was one of the sole purpose why cheap 7.62 chicom ammo was banned from imporation , when they released the 7.62 AR pistol.

Remember a BB or Locking Device must be used in a AR/AK Pistol even if used with .22LR since the mag is outside the PG. Just thought I'd share that before anyone got the wrong idea there
