    Browning 22, whats it worth?

This handgun belongs to a friend who's considering getting rid of it and asked me if i knew what it was worth. Needless to say, I have no idea so I'm asking you guys. Is anyone familiar?

Searched GB for "Browning 22" and found out what you had then Googled it and got lots of details.

You appears to have a Browning Nomad with a 4-1/4" barrel. The Nomad was in production from 1962-74 and was loosely based on the Colt Woodsman but was never as well-received, hence the short production run. Nomads came in 4-1/4" and 6-1/4" barrel lengths and had a pretty decent reputation for accuracy, but were fussier than most .22's with regard to their ammo. The letter "P" in the serial number refers to the Nomad model and would be preceded by one or two digits. From 1962-68 the P would have only a single digit indicating the year, ie, a 1963 Nomad's serial number would start with "3P" followed by the rest of the number. From 1969-on the "P" would have both digits of the year, so a 1971 Nomad would start with "71P." They appear regularly but aren't big sellers on GB, going for $300-$400 when they do sell, normal for a 1960's vintage .22 pistol.

If your friend puts it up for sale and really wants it to go, I'd bypass GB and post it here on the Marketplace. Us CG'ers love to get our hands on less-common, out-of-production pieces. G'luk.
      I'm good with numbers:
      .22 .32 .380 .40 5.56 .223
