    Glock Slimline 45acp.

The Glock Slim line 45 fits in my hand, but I have two issues with the gun.

One is I don't like short barrels, could I drop in a longer barrel, say 4 to 5 inches?

Two, I would like to have more rounds, I don't care if the mag sticks out.
Are there higher capacity mags available?

I have a few 1911s which are my choice right now. I have a G21, but the grip is too fat for me.

Not a big issue at this time for me, but when we win the "Sykes" case, it may be.

Have you tried the SF version of the Glock? The normal Glock 30 felt a bit fat for me, I got a Glock 30SF and it feels pretty good....

For slim line, the only model is G36. Lonewolf appears to have an extended,
ported barrel available at 4.65" vs 3.78".

For mags, there are +1 extensions available, giving you 7+1. I haven't seen
any mags/extensions with more than 7.

I actually like the feel of the g36 alot, but the grip is much too short, makes me feel like there is great potential for clumsy accidents

I like the feel on the 36 also. But I dont like the idea of my pinky resting on the magazine..

But to answer you question, yes you can get a long barrel..

Pearce has a +1 extension for the G36.

Just send your G21 to Robar for a custom grip job.

I use the Pearce +1 on my extra mags, and the Pearce +0 on my carry mag...both add a pinky grip and work great. The Glock 36 is an excellent handgun...accurate and dependable...not huge capacity, but significantly narrower for carry than the double stacks. The Glock 36 and 30 are very accurate .45s, so I'm not sure how much more you'd gain by another .5 inches to the barrel. Some say the 30 is more accurate than the 21. Anyone got stats? Also, the barrel on the 36 is 3.78"...pretty close to 4".

Because of the .45's low velocity the performance difference between a 4" and a 5" barrel is negligible.

The G36's barrel is less than a 1/4" shy of 4", and with Glock's low friction polygonal rifling you should be getting Commander length performance velocity wise.

With practice the G36 is very accurate. I installed +0 mag extentions on all seven of my G36 mags. Helps in concealed carry and adds in getting a good grip on presentation from the holster. The barrel might as well be called a 4" cause its dang close.

I have a G21 and a G36. I have big hands so the 21 works great for and is my favorite gun. The 36 does feel great though. Get a +1 extension so your pinky isn't hanging off and it has a real similar feel to a G19.

With the way the G36 is designed (with the short grip and the magazine required to complete the grip frame) I've always suspected they originally planned to have a 5 round mag as an option, to make it a true pocket pistol.

However, after further testing with a two finger hold I think they had second thoughts.

Still, I would like to try it with a 5+1 setup. It couldn't be much worse than a titanium J frame in 357!

hmm, that would be possible considering the closest competition the 36 has is the Kahr PM45, with a 5 round mag.

If the magazine basepad wasn't there the grip would look similar to a 26/27/29/39

Interested in selling the G21? Though with my luck, you're probably in the bay area...

If you do happen to be in SoCal, you can spend some time at the range with my G36 to see if you like it. I think it kicks pretty hard but I love the grip ergos
