Thoughts on the Glock 22

Well, in the interests of veering immediately off topic: I really like my G35 with Dawson Precision fiberoptic sights (thin front sight) + bar-sto barrel. That thing is crazy accurate.
Any reason to get a G22 instead of the G35? -
It's hard to go wrong with any Glock. They're outstanding handguns. The G35 is nice, but it's a little longer than the G22.
Personally I like the G19, have you checked out the G23 since you're looking at the .40?OCSD Approved CCW Instructor

Well, hell, if you're willing to go short, get a G20 + a .40 barrel. And then you can get a 9x25 barrel as a poor man's flamethrower.
Though the handle is kind of fat, I admit.Comment

I used to shoot a g35 in IDPA, i recently took a g22 on trade for another weapon and just looking for opinions, accuracy reports etc. My g35 was rediculously accurate."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Ben FranklinComment

Well, if you need to sell it to fund a g20, let me know
I'm curious to hear what people thing about the comparision as well. I mostly shoot revolvers (hate chasing brass), but the g35 and a fusion longslide 1911 are my two favorite semi-autos.Comment

The 35 and 22 are the same gun for the most part. The only difference you'll notice is the trigger is 1lbs heavier and the sight radius is not as long.OCSD Approved CCW Instructor

I have a G35, G23 and G27. In California I don't see any reason why I should get a G22 due to the castrated mags. The G35 is purely for USPSA production and limited division shooting. The G23 serves as my primary CCW if I ever get a permit. The G27 will be my back-up. A G22 is also an excellent platform for production/limited class in USPSA, but the G35 handles so much better in my opinion. The wise man said just find your place

My thought is that reloads are out of the picture entirely....full case support is over rated with Glock Fotey's....."I am the bastard son...The expendable one...

You know, why not get a Glock 20 and then a .40 conversion barrel? All the same hardware works between both rounds and all you do is swap the barrel to shoot the .40's.OCSD Approved CCW Instructor

I like my G22 very much. Accuracy is good but not great, this has to be due to me I am sure! This gun feels outstanding in my hand, better than my G27 but I shoot my 27 better. Reliability is superb with FMC ammo.
I have a preban 22 and a couple of 15 round mags and this is my home defense gun. My 27 is my CCW. After about 3000 rounds I am very happy with this gun. Hope this helps.

I own a G23. I find it to be very reliable. I have shot G17 and G22 pistols. Aside from being a little heavier, I just haven't noticed much difference between the full size and the compact Glocks. I have not yet had a chance to shoot either the 34 or 35... but I've heard that they're quite accurate. My experience with a G27 (just borrowed/rented) is that even those are quite accurate for having a pretty short barrel and sight radius.
Just hard to go wrong with a Glock... pretty they ain't... but they do work.Comment

I've owned my G22 for 20 months with over 7000 rounds down the pipe, used regularly and competitively, and find it to be extremely reliable and as accurate as the shooter.
(Caveat of the day - the following is strictly my opinion based on my shooting experience.)
I currently own a G22 and a G30. Before buying the G22 I shot the G23 & 22 side by side, 200 rounds each and was more accurate with the 22. Since, I have shot a variety of Glocks (23, 27, 35, 30) and other brands of 9mm - 45ACP. The 22 is a bit snappier than the 30 (45ACP), smoother than either the 23 or 27. The 35 is smoother and easier to shoot more accurately. The 22 is a bit more difficult to CCW due to the size.
My advice is to shoot whatever you are considering and decide for yourself.sigpic

I don't think you guys are reading the OP HE ALREADY HAS A GLOCK 22!!! Excellent handgun in my opinion, It does not fit my hand perfect but with a hogue slip on grip it fits awesome and with the reliability it gives me, Well I am willing to live with that "I have a glock 17 not 22" I shot my brothers 22 and I agree it's a bit snappier but not bad at all if I were to be competing I would definitely prefer the 9mm with all that said I was still punching one big hole in the x ring I only shot it at 10 yards but that is more than good enough for me and I can do the same with my glock 17...Comment
