Windage on a revolver

If a revolver (Colt Python specifically) is shooting quite a bit to the right so that you have to really crank the windage screw, is there a problem with the gun? Or simply the rear sight? Is this normal for Pythons? I saw some other guy complaining on the Internet about this but didn't see a resolution. None of my Smiths suffer from this with the same 38sp load.

Actually I think I see the problem. Rear sight looks a bit canted to the left. This used to be someone's carry gun so not surprising. Anyone know how to fix it? Do I need a new rear sight?

Perhaps. Tried it with my elbows on the bench, single action with the same result.

I shoot several hundred rounds each month through my Smiths. I am no ace but I have a feeling it is the rear sight. I can see it canted to the left.

Adjust the rear sight to the left will move POI to the left, I will try to move the front sight to the right to move POI to the left. At ten yards with my 4" SW, I move the rear 3/128 of an inch then the POI move 1".

Does the horizontal pin that the rear sight pivots on for elevation appear intact? Its pretty common for Accro and similar sights to lose the pin.

Thanks. Yes, that pin seems fine.

Something is definitely off though. When I raise the sight all the way by turning the elevation screw, there is a 1mm or so gap on the right side between the frame and the sight but not on the left side. The leaf looks canted to the left. Anything else to check for?

I think my rear sight elevation spring on the left side might be missing or broken. Can this happen? If so, where can I get replacement parts?
