    Ruger P95- need info

    Hey fellow CalGunners....

I had some $$$ burning a hole in my hands so I went and bought a Ruger p95 in 9mm this afternoon. It looked nice and now the 10 days of waiting starts. Do any of you have this handgun? Give me your thoughts on this firearm. Ive had the P89 in the past and loved it....so I hope its similar

I have the P94 9mm that is very similar to the p95 they use the same magazines. First off anything made by Ruger is built to last.
My p94 has never jammed and its a tank. I have read that the p95 is more accurate than my p94. It is more than a great deal for 400 out the door.

I had a P89. Can take most abuse you throw its way and is very accurate for such a cheap pistol. The trigger isnt the best, but its definitely worth the money.
Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

I have one and haven't had a single problem with it.
Peace demands solutions, but we never reach living solutions; we only work toward them. A fixed solution is, by definition, a dead solution. The trouble with peace is that it tends to punish mistakes instead of rewarding brilliance.

I wish Turner's wasn't selling the safety/decock model. I want another (or P89) in decock only.

I have a P95 and it runs great. It started out as the blued decock/safety model. It's now a stainless decock only model. I got a very good deal on parts to switch it over. Mark

My P95 is one of my most reliable guns, and I can share mags with my PC-9 rifle. I smoothed up the trigger on mine, which helps, but don't shoot it that much any more. Here's my standard post on the pros and cons of the P95:

                  Plusses:
Sturdy, reliable, feeds about everything, inexpensive, good mechanical accuracy, easy to strip and clean, great customer service if you need it, soft recoil, fun to shoot, inexpensive mags.

                  Minuses:
Heavy, gritty, creepy trigger makes it harder to shoot accurately, not so many accessories for it (if that matters), bulky, fat grip, will drop the hammer pretty far out of battery (0.2", compared to 0.05" on my Milspec 1911).

                  Neutral (depends on your preferences):
Safety works backwards from many guns (up is off, down is on), safety decocks the gun (no cocked-and-locked).

How much did you pay is the first question. If you paid under 350 that you did OK IMO. Used Glocks can be had for 350-400$ and you can get a Sig 225/P6 for 300-350$

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Are P95 and P89 mags interchangeable?
