just got the paper work back. and everything went thru. i now own legally my first handgun thru my father.

question is, is there a limit or time frame between transfers?

No limit or time frame between transfers. And technically, you legally owned the handgun the second your father gave it to you. You can mail in the registration form up to 30 day after you legally take possession from your father.

not a time limit, but a limit on number of transfer filings... I think the word is "infrequent" which is defined in some sections of the PC as "less than 6 times a year". so your father can only transfer handguns to you 4 more times this year (which I think means "every 12 months" but might be "this calendar year"... not sure.) the good news is he can transfer as many handguns as he wants each time, all for the same $19.... 3 guns per form, as many forms as you can print, $19.

Good catch! We usually don't think about the "infrequent" restriction applying to family transfers, but it does. And it does reset at the calendar year, so only four more handgun transfers (of one or more handguns) until January 1, 2010.
