I'm new to this forum, so hello to all.
I noticed on SIGforum that SIG just released a new batch of "rail-less P228s" that are P228 slides on what seems to be P229 SAS melt-job frames. A member's photo comparison clearly shows the new P228 frames are not the same as the classic P228 frames. It looks very much like P229 SAS frames with the factory melt job.
So, do these new P228s qualify as a CA-approved handgun? "P228" has been on the approved list for a long time. Just wondering if the melt job on the frame makes this a new gun for the purpose of CA approval.
