    CZ P-01

Anybody have an opinion to share on this model? I handled one the other day at Bass Pro Shop and it fit my hand like a glove. To me, the alloy frame really gives it a balanced feeling, truly natural feeling to point, as well.

one of my 2 favorite handguns. yeah, it feels so right in your hand. it is compact enough for ccw and has all the corners rounded. it is also NATO mil spec. i highly suggest you pick one up.

    BTW, shameless plug:
i have a brand new set of crimson trace laser grips for the CZ P-01 for sale ($200) in the firearms parts & accessories forum. i installed them, but it is not for me so i took them off. they have never been used to fire the gun. they look real slick, but i am old fashioned and i am used used to plain sights.

Never shot one, but I've heard great things and if I don't stop hearing them, my Glock 19 might get traded in.

I've owned one for a few years now and it hasn't given me a single problem. It's definitely my favorite handgun of the ones I've owned.

This is a WOW gun in every respect. I have owned mine for several months now and out of about a thousand rounds of every brand of ammo, not a single failure. I have never had this kind of results, ever! Add to it that it feels great in the hand and is a real looker. Glad I chose it over the G19.

It's been on my list for a while. I've fired it, and I love the feel. Just the right amount of weight and size for the caliber. If I didn't get such a good deal on my last shotgun, I'd have that P-01 right now.

Not exactly P-01, but I have shot 50 rounds through an SP-01 rental gun. I liked the feel. It fit my hand, it seemed like a natural pointer, and it shot well. The very first round stovepiped, but there were no signs of problems after that. Maybe I limp-wristed it.

I have the P-01 with the kadet kit and I can assure that it's one of the best if not the best pistols made today.

My first time shooting it I grouped one tight cluster at 10 yards and then went on to shoot the 6" plates at 50 yards. It took me at least 500 rounds to achieve the same level of proficiency with my Glock 19.

I also highly recommend the 22 LR Kadet kit. Extremely reliable and accurate.

The P-01 is my favorite pistol but I probably would have been just as happy with the CZ 75 Compact. The P-01 has the light rail and I sometimes wonder if I like the looks of the Compact better? I would love to have both!

The triggers generally suck, which is true for many stock pistols. The decocker means it's a little more complicated to do a trigger job.

As a bonus, Crimson Trace grips do not add any extra width to the grip dimensions, as is true for many other double stack pistols.

But with lots of use I hear the trigger will smooth right up. It's my second favorite pistol after the SIG P228.

The trigger gets better as you use it and the Kadet kit is another reason to keep using that same trigger. I single action the trigger is just fine out of the box. I agree the first double action pull is rough. I've been using the o-ring behind the firing pin while dryfiring it and this works well. The o-ring also make dryfiring very quiet so I can watch a movie and use the bg's as targets...it's like a virtual shoot-out.

i sent one of my P-01's to CZ custom and they did a sweet trigger job on it. they replaced the hammer and a spring or two.
