    Sprinco 1911 recoil management system

Is anyone familiar with these? I am thinking of getting rid of my Centaur systems barrel/comp on my Delta Elite since I cant get any information on the appropriate replacement recoil spring. The Sprinco is a full length guide rod with a built in buffer spring. Also can anyone suggest the appropriate weight spring for this set up for full power loads?

I had one made for my 1911. The company utilized a spring rate appropriate for the powderpuff loads i tend to shoot (call them, they are very receptive and can recommend appropriate rates etc.).

I thought it was well made and may have aided in blunting the recoil perception. My good friend, a very well known competitor and gunsmith with years of experience did not subscribe to its benefits.

I just got the Sprinco for my Delta, I got a 18# and a 20# spring as per Alan's suggestion. Damn this thing is shiney! I am abandoning the Centaur System for now and cant wait to function fire the Springco system to see which spring suits my needs. BTW whoever said it was right, it was more that a pleasure to do business with Alan over at Sprinco the guy all but hand carried my order to me!

Over the years, I've tested all sorts of recoil "buffers" and recoil "systems" in 1911 type pistols.

I don't believe that any of them do anything other than seperate the shooter from his money.

I now use whatever came in the given pistol (spring/plug, or full length recoil rod) and replace the recoil spring every 1k to 1.5k rounds.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Had one. Mine was Epic Fail, as it caused an otherwise-reliable 1911 to start jamming.

I got systems for the Delta and 92SB, both of these pistols are known for beating themselves to death. I guess I will never know if they would fall apart any faster without the systems.
