Glocktoberfest

I just saw the add for the Glocks in stock. 9mm or .40 for the subs? I want something for concealed carry, but not sure which one. I already have an XD40 non sub, but unsure about the big .40 or .45 for a sub compact frame gun.

Thoughts?

Glock gives one a lot of choices for CCW handguns. The mentioned model 27 in 40 caliber is a nice small gun, the 26 is the exact same size gun with 9mm chambering. Up a little in size, but still small a double stack, are the 29 and 30. These are 10mm and 45 ACP respectively. Both similar size. For 45 ACP in a single stack (narrower) configuauration, Glock has the 36. Width is similar to the 27, but narrower than the 29.

The price is tempting, I've been looking for a 27 to PPT. Redondo Beach Turner's has a 26 for $425.

I've got a G30 and it's been 100% reliable.

I added a Bar-Sto barrel against the kb! factor.

Get the one you shoot best and most accurately with. If you don't like the added recoil of .40S&W over the 9mm in a sub-compact gun then get the 9mm. Another consideration is the 10-round civ mag capacity. Going with a .40 will give you more "bullet" per round. But put a few rounds of 9mm through a bad guy's vital organs/spine and I doubt they'll know the difference.

if you want to conceal i think the Glock 19, 26 would be good.. even though i find the Glock 26 a bit small for my hand. or look into the XD9.. the SC xd9 is has a bit longer grip so it fits better than the Glock 26 SC in my opinion. i went to today and came up with this cause i was considering the SC XD9, Glock 26 or the Glock 19..

i ended up with the Glock 19.. but am still considering the SC XD9 for a later date..

You could get the 27 and then later buy the Lone Wolf drop in 9mm barrel. 2 for 1. I have the 27, hard to handle the recoil until I got those grip extensions.

I bought a 10 today too, although your today is a couple of days ago. Why did this thread come up in New Posts?

9mm is so much more comfortable and enjoyable to shoot. That being said, I would be much happier with a 40 cal when the need came. For CCW, get the G27.
