I have a p99 9mm and understand Wathers with the datecode KK are very desireable and somewhat a collectors item? Please enlighten me as to its value versus the others. I bought it almost as soon as they were introduced and before s&w had anything to do with it.

Same here, got a KK P99. It could be a collector because KK means proof year 1999?
I read Dr. Lunde's P99 FAQ at: http://www.praxagora.com/lunde/WaltherP99FAQ/
It does not mention anything about KK P99. The only thing that struck me was that the P99 was redesigned in 2004. -
Oh what a movie can do to the rep of a gun.Comment

I've been wanting to test fire one of these but the local ranges here have none. From what I've read on other forums, these pistols are accurate, reliable, and built well. The problem is that they're so underrated and not heavily marketed that you don't see them that often.Comment

Hi.
I had one of these and had mixed feelings on it. Mine was pre-2004 and is sometimes reffered toas Anti-Stess (AS). It was accurate. I could consistently hit a 6" x 6" square at 35 yards. The trigger was wierd for me. It seemed a little spongy for my liking but was tolerable. My complaint about the trigger is that it was very difficult for me to feel it reset. On Glocks, Sigs, and 1911's, I can feel it reset. I liked it better than my Sig 228 and Sig 229. I didn't compare it to a Sig 226 though. I still prefer my 1911's and Glocks. Ultimately I sold this to my brother-in-law and he loves it.
My 2 cents for what it's worth.

I agree. Comparing it with other major polymer pistols, I would rank the P99 slightly better than Glocks in handling and performance and about equal to HK USPs.Originally posted by Sugarfoot47From what I've read on other forums, these pistols are accurate, reliable, and built well. As for the marketing, blame Jame Bond.

Mine is a safe queen now. It's boringly accurate and reliable. It doesn't excite me as much as SIGs.Originally posted by nearsightednateHi.

From: http://www.praxagora.com/lunde/Walth...AQ/VIII/6.htmlOriginally posted by asintadoare P99s and SW99s exactly the same thing?
How do the Smith & Wesson SW99 and Walther P99 differ?
The SW99 frame, although made by Walther in Germany, has a rounded trigger guard. The shape and composition of the SW99's slide is also different. The slide and barrel of the SW99 are stainless steel and melonite-finished. The slide and barrel of the P99 are steel and tennifer-treated. The P99 is considered by most to be superior to the SW99.Comment
