You can get it at turners for sure. Not sure about the other places but usualy if they sell guns they also have the test.

    Good luck.

They did not ask me to demo it, I suppose it's up to the person behind the counter to determin while you handle the gun. As in watching you to see if your pointing it or mishandling it I really don't know. I would suggest you just use common sense and you will be ok.

            For the safe handling demonstration.

            1) Point the gun in a safe direction (with finger off the trigger)
            2) Take off a trigger lock
            3) Drop the magazine
            4) Lock the slide back
            5) Visually (and physically) check that there is no round in the chamber or a magazine in the gun.
            6) Allow the slide to move forward
            7) Re-apply the trigger lock

I believe they also make you do it with a checked dummy round for loading a single dummy round into the gun and being able to load the gun.

            1) Point the gun in a safe direction (with finger off the trigger)
            2) Lock the slide back
            3) Put the dummy round in the magazine
            4) Put magazine in the gun
            5) Release the slide to strip the round into the chamber
            6) Pull the slide back to visually inspect that a round is in the chamber.
            7) Then the steps above to unload the gun.

You will have to do this for every pistol you buy and sign a letter saying that you've done this procedure.

Maybe they forgot to have me do that? Don't want to get anyone in trouble but they didn't have me do any of that.

Turners in Chino Hills is where I got mine. Very easy to pass. They have a study guide you can purchase for less than a buck if I remember correctly.

The closest place to you would be Bass Pro or the new (second location) Ammo Bros by the 10 & 15 near Scandia. Test test is a minor $25.00 speed bump, just don't start waving the handgun around while holdin it at an angle like a gangsta
                          Seriously, enjoy your new XD,

Just be careful because these things have a way of multipling. The other day I went into a store in orange for a deal on .50 cal. ammo cans......and ended up purchasing another Sig.
I think I might have that H1handgun virus
