SIG - German v. US - What are the differences?

I am looking to buy a P220 and was wondering what you thought the differences were between an older German gun vs. the newer US ones?

There's an ongoing topic right now a few threads down.

For now, I'll just say, stamped slide on German P-series vs. stainless slide on US P-series, with the exception to the P229.

If you look at sigforum.com, they generally will say that the German ones are better and the quality control has slipped off in the new ones. I have a new one that I'm pretty happy with.
