    45 ACP Ammo Source

I hear Walmart has .45 ACP at good prices - does anyone know of SoCal Walmarts that carry it or any other source for Wolf or other cheap stuff at a good price?

Honestly, if I knew of a good source I probably wouldn't tell anyone. 45acp is really hard to come by nowadays. Walmart is the cheapest for target ammo, I've heard of Ammo Bros in SoCal they sell reloads. For WalMart is just a matter of being there at the right time. Good luck.

Invest in reloading gear. I can do 200g SWC .45 for:

        .074/ rd
        $3.70/50 rds
        $74.00/ 1000 rds

Thats using todays prices listed on Powder Valley's website. I got my stuff when it was a lot cheaper.

What setup do you use - I think I am going to start reloading - what is a good safe setup - I don't need just a beginner setup.

This is the one caliber I can't find. The one place I saw it was at Miwals at the recent Sep Cow Palace show. It was about 50 cents a round. I've been shooting more 9 mm till supply and price comes down.

unless you cast your own lead bullets and pick up brass for free, you will not be able to reload at these prices any more.

On the other hand, you can probably still do it for around $7-$8 per 50 rds of fmj 45s.

If you want a reliable source of .45 ACP ammo, I suggest using the internet ammo sites. http://gun-deals.com/ is a great website to find the lowest priced ammunition.

Now that every body is reloading, Primers as it is now are hard to get, just like ammo.

                              Take a read here.

I run the Hornady LNL. Out of the box with the dies your good to go for straight wall handgun calibers. Rifle its a little more involved.
