Just thought I would share, I picked it up from my FFL this morning but unfortunately it is nasty outside so I have not had an opportunity to put any rounds through it. I have never shot an XD but the price is right and they seem to have good reviews so I sprung for it.

So which one did you get?Looking for a 3" Magnum 870 $200-$250ish -
I have had two XD's and still have my XD9. I love em, their great guns, although I could do without the loaded chamber indicator.Comment

Yeah, it does seem a little excessive the guy at the gun store tried to sell that feature saying that you could just run your hand over the slide in the dark and you could tell if it had one chambered or not. I just kind of looked at him skeptically and he quickly moved onComment

Ah don't get me wrong, it is a nice safety feature, but it is also another part to break. I know a few xd owners who've lost their loaded chamber indicators after a few thousand rounds, I know others who still have em after thousands more. I'm just one of the types who likes stuff plain and simple. I bought my Xd's first, then bought a Glock and fell in love.Yeah, it does seem a little excessive the guy at the gun store tried to sell that feature saying that you could just run your hand over the slide in the dark and you could tell if it had one chambered or not. I recently got an XD40 Tactical, and so far it's been great. I actually like the chamber indicator--it's a great way to check visually or physically very quickly, and is a backup to a visual check of the actual chamber.Yeah, it does seem a little excessive the guy at the gun store tried to sell that feature saying that you could just run your hand over the slide in the dark and you could tell if it had one chambered or not. This is the first I've heard of skepticism of that feature--seems like a nice feature to me.Comment

I've got three Xd's (all tact) and can highly suggest the Springer Precision trigger kit. Easy to fit when done properly, takes up the creep by more than 50% and overtravel, netting my XD's a pull of 4.0- 4.3 lbs when finished. Reliable detonation as well expierencing no MF's or AD's with several k rounds through them.
The 40 is a little finicky on munitions though. I load 165gr. or 185 gr. HP or rd nose fp with Universal or HS-6 and it's all good. The 9mm and 45 feed anything you can through at them.
Enjoy your XDYou Can't Fix StupidComment

I've had my XDSC9 for over 6yrs. and carry it daily for ccw use. I bought it thru LAPD and it came with the Heine Straight 8 sights on it. Due to age and the fact I shoot at ranges during the day, I sold them to a fellow member on xdtalk.com and bought some Truglo TFO sights.
I have had those sights for over 2yrs. and have never had a problem with them becoming loose or fading. The FO is great during the day and the tritium is great at night. Excellent gun.
I tried the subcompact Glocks first, but limpwristed with all of them no matter how tight my grip was. I have never had that problem with the XD, plus being lefty, I like the ambi mag release.Comment
