Ammo shipping options?

When ammo is being shipped, can you instruct that the shipment be held at the local facility (UPS for example) for pick-up instead of having it delivered? I know that the local UPS Store will receive packages for people for a small fee, never tried ammo, anyone done this and would it violate any laws?

If you have a local UPS distribution center near you, call them for instruction on how to put on the shipping label for them to hold the package for you. Don't know much about the law with shipping ammos, but others will chime in soon.

I know that UPS has a "hold at depot" option where you can have packages addressed to your local UPS facility for pick up. It is designed for people who travel a lot. There are no laws preventing you from shipping ammunition like this and UPS doesn't have a policy against it.

There are also no laws preventing you from shipping ammo to a "UPS Store" franchise, but you would need to check with the owner of the franchise to see if they will accept an ammunition shipment for you. I think most shipping store type businesses will only accept packages for you if you rent a "p.o." box from them on a monthly basis.

Call them to hold at West Sac, people do all the times when they travel or just move to a new location ( UPS do not have forward service like US mail, if you move, they won't know and still deliver to your old location!)

If you have a tracking number for UPS, you might be able to have it held at the local center before it gets delivered. Usually I get the yellow tag on the first delivery attempt, and then just go online and tell them to hold it at Will Call locally, where I go pick it up.
