    How much for 9mm?

How much would you be willing to pay for 9mm rounds, 50 per box?

    Assume these rounds would be:
    Basic FMJ 115gr or 124gr
Major Manufacturer such as Hornady, Winchester, Remington, PMC, etc...

I'm currently looking at sourcing product, but don't want to bother if the per box price is higher then anyone is actually willing to pay for it.

In all honesty a decent round new from a Major Manufacturer should not cost more then $0.20 a round before tax. That is the way I see it if it cost half of that to load your own if you did decide to invest in a loader. To make it more fair if WWB's of 9mm go for $20 or so at Wal-Mart then that is the price range you will have to compete with. Yes I know times are rough and ammo is non chalant but I am just speaking for myself and a few people I know that will not pay more then $10 per 50 rounds before tax.

I look forward to seeing what kind of deal you can swing, and also thank you for trying to cut us a deal even though it is hard to source decent ammo right now.

I def hear ya.. I know ideally everyone will want to pay as little as possible. Part of the reason for the poll is to find out what people are willing to pay right now as ammo is harder to find. I don't want to spend a couple grand bringing in ammo that I'd have to sell at $18/50 only to find out that everyone can wait for it to come back to $10/50. This is especially true since on a single box I'm only making 10%. I appreciate any and all feedback. I see no reason to stock ammo I can't sell so it helps to know what people are willing to pay!

9 months ago you would have gotten a completely different answer. I think the ammo shortage is starting to wane. Bass Pro Shop is starting to ship megapacks and walmart is starting to keep their stock for longer. You can just tell by seeing all the ammo reseller in the sale section are having to drop their prices or sit on their stash and wait longer for someone really desperate.

Yeah, I'd say it's not worth it for you to take the risk. You could end up upside down pretty soon. I'm already upside down on some ammo I'm trying to get rid of...

Most I would pay is $12.00 per 50. I looked at some old boxes of 9mm I bought in 1995 (WWB and CCI Blazer) and the price was $6.99-$7.99/50.

the cheap prices are way long gone. Even wally that is the low price leader either doesn't have it in stock and if they do its gone in a heartbeat so using a price for ammo that is not available is worthless. You can use it but if its not available nobody needs to compete against it.
Unwillingness to lay 18$ per box means nothing IMO. For every person who is unwilling to pay that price there are one or two who are willing to pay those prices. IF i had to pay those prices i would. I'm one of the I'll wait til its cheaper or find a good deal then buy it but I realize that there are tons of people who simply will pay retail prices.

As for ammo being more available IMO not true at all. I basically drove cross the state ( long ways) and into Nevada on vacation and the availability of ammo is dismal and that included nevada. let me put it this way. the ONLY possible way I would be able to pick up 9mm ammo would be to either pay 24$ plus tax per box of 50 or go to a gun shop and pay 150$ plus tax for a bulk can. I have tons of relatives and they all say the same thing. Ammo is simply not easy to find or flat out unavailable. About the only thing available are bulk packs. The 50 round boxes are still high if they're even available.

With all the crazy bans and rules the gvmnt. wants to employ I expect ammo to become not only more scarce but also more and more expensive.
15-20$ seems to be the norm these days for a box of 50 count 9mm.
20-30$ seems to be the norm these days for a box of 50 count .45 cal.

I wouldn't hold my breath for 7.99/50 count box of 9mm. 1995 prices are about as likely to come back as the Do Do bird.

I'm not willing to pay the prices being asked by the current crop of sellers.

More than content to NOT shoot what I've got, holding onto it until prices reach a more agreeable equilibrium. That being said, I think that anything more than $12 per box of good plinking ammo is extortion, and $10 per box is more in keeping with what I'm willing to pay.

Looks like a lot of people are NOT shooting.

I voted $10 because I can find Blazer out of state for that price.....and it's the lowest price on the poll. Should be $6-8 per 50 and no looming ammo issues.

I think the days of cheap ammo are gone (hope I'm wrong).

I voted $12, because when I see it at that price these days, I usually buy some.

I pay $10+tax. I'll wait until Walmart has some and then buy it. Every time it looks like I may run low or out, the local store seems to get some more 9mm. Plus I got 500 rd in the Bass Pro deal. It took a while to get here but it beats checking Walmart all the time.

NFW am I going to pay $15-20 to the gougers.

Well, I wouldn't say $15-20 is everyone trying to price gouge. I'm looking at ammo from Winchester, Hornady, and others straight from my distributor and cost on a single box is $15. Figure 1 or 2 bucks in shipping per box which includes the hazmat fee and that means most dealers receive ammo 17 or 18 bucks.. so if we sell it for 19-20 we're only making a buck or two a box. That's not really gouging. It's probably also part of the reason many of the small gun shops don't have tons of ammo either. The economics just don't work right now. I searched for 4 hours last night looking for ANY ammo I could get in and sell for $12 a box and other then Wolf there isn't anything I could find that would come close even if I was buying quantity in cases. Now it could also be that I haven't found who the good ammo distributors are. If anyone has any leads, I'm all ears!

Ammoman has good deals generally, but I can't make any money buying the same ammo you can get and then trying to resell it for a buck extra a box when you can buy it direct from them.

you can call ammoman and maybe see if you can be a reseller for them? see if they are willing to give you a dealer price that is lower than retail but still allow you to sell it at the same price they do to not out sell them.
