    XDm - 10 round mags

I did a search for XDm, nothing came up.

Are 10 round mags for the XDm available yet?

We have to have 10 round mags up here before we can import a gun from the US, I figured I better ask here as California has the same stupid "10 or less" law for handguns, correct?

If they aren't available yet, does anyone know when Springfield will make a 10 rounder for the XDm?

You can always receive the mags in "kit" form and pin them to the 10 round limit. FYI...

This has come up a few time.

There are no plans for a 10 round XDM mag. The main reason being that the XDM's super high capacity mags are one of it's big selling point.

Since the gun can not pass the current California Safe Roster, and will never be for sale in California, there is little motive for them to make a 10 round mag for the gun.

The regular XD is available and has 10 round mags for it.

We've talked about this before on one of the Canadian forums and someone sent an email awhile ago asking Springfield directly if they plan on making a 10 round mag for the XD.

The answer was "yes", but not for awhile. Mind you this was 6+ months ago.

I'm lost, what are Canada's firearms laws (short & simple version)? I was under the impression that it was near impossible to own a gun there currently.

As far as the XDM is concerned, I have heard that Springfield Armory is not going to have the XDM certified for CA sale, so there really is no reason for them to make 10 round magazines for it. Of course, they may make 10 round magazines for the few other states that have the same mag capacity restrictions but not rosters (NY, HI).

Hell no. I'm "cleaning" my Colt Combat Commander as I type.

I wrote this to clarify the laws for up here:

Okay, now I'm confused. Other then the lack of a 10 round magazine, what other reasons are there that the XDm cannot be sold in Cali?

It doesn't have a magazine disconnect.

All news guns submitted must have a magazine disconnect and a visible warning when the gun is loaded, or an LCI

Lots of people think the mag disconnect is the problem, I personally believe its the visible warning. The way the law is stated the warning must be visible from X amount of feet away and must be understood, by those not familiar with guns.

That right there is a very vague description, that will for the most part disqualify almost all guns. The only semi pistol to pass since the new requirements has been the Ruger SR9.

and here is the visible Loaded Chamber Indicator

True. Although the XDm does have an LCI, it probably doesn't meet the standards that CA requires for an LCI.

My HK P2000/HK45 and P30 all have an LCI, but none of them would pass the requirements. I am familiar with the pistols and I can barely tell via the LCI if they are loaded. They stick out a mm or 2 at most

I emailed them a month ago and they said there were no plans for 10 round mags for the XDm.

Yep. Once you own the gun, you are free to mod it how you see fit, as long as you don't break AW/NFA laws.

what i don't get is why don't the XDm use the same magazines as the XD? it is just a upgraded version of the original XD, or did they change it so much the magazines needed to be different?

A big part of the selling point of the XDM is the higher capacity mags. If you allow the previous generation to accept those mags then you are eating into your own sales of your new pistol.
