Police trade in Glocks are usually pretty cheap. Bought a G23 for $350 a while back.

Turners down here in SOCAL had German police turn in Sig Sauer P6 (P225) for around 400 bucks before fees. That may be something to look into. J&G sales lists them on their website.

In the 500 or 600 range, I would look into the CZ75 or maybe a G17 or G19.

Love my P6. Cheap, reliable, easy to shoot/maintain/clean. Comes with holster, 2 mags, cleaning kit. It's a Sig. Only holds 8 rounds.

          Hi Point?

I have a Hi Point C9. About $200.00 out the door.

I have put over 1,000 round through it and it shoot great. It's ugly, but it fits my hand and it hits what I point it at.

You'll get a WHOLE lot of crap from everyone on here if you DO get a hipoint...but there's NOTHING wrong with them other than they're ugly, heavy and cheaply made. They shoot just fine. As a range plinker, it'd be perfect.

Hell, I think I'd want an unreliable gun for a range plinker, 'cause then I could practice malfunction drills! ...and not to say the Hi Point is unreliable, because i've never had one fail on me...

I'm selling a stainless ruger P89 with 9 mags for only $350. It's very reliable and an excellent plinker.

+1 on the P6. Mine is amazingly accurate and reliable with SWC and 147 grn hydrashoks.

Used CZ 75, no question. Second would be used Beretta 92/Sig 226.
