MecGar are as good as factory magazines. In fact, MecGar ARE factory magazines for a large percentage of firearms including Sig, Browning/FN, CZ, and others.

Mec-Gar mags are amazing--in some cases, they are better than factory.

Try it for yourself - Some 1911s are quite picky with mags -

I have some older 7 and 10 round mecgar mags. They work fine but I like chip mccormicks 10 rounders better. One thing I didn't like on the mecgar 10 rounders was the way the stop was made on the mag so they wouldn't be over inserted. The rear of the mag had small ledge that was punched outward from the rear of the mag to stop the mag when inserted. That tended to mark up the frame of the gun at the mag well. I ground those off and made plastic sleeves to stop the mags from going in to far. As for other mecgar mags I have used hipower and cz 75mags and they are great. Mark

Really I can get them at cost so I'm just wondering if they are even worth it, but so far you guys seem pretty happy about them.

Mecgar 1911 mags are great, but good luck trying to drill holes on the bases to screw on bumper pads. The metal on the bottom is very hard, I ended up gluing rubber bumper pads on.

Mecgar mags have always been the shizzle for me. My P226 came OEM with Mecgar mags and I've got several for my Combat Commander.

100% reliable for me, and highly recommended.

One of my pistolero buddies swears by MecGar for 1911 magazines.

I bought Wilson Combat, but Mec Gar for my other items work very very well. Highly recommended.
