    Baby Eagle 45 jamming

I picked up the Jericho from another forum member a few weeks ago and it's jamming on me. About one round in every two magazines will fail to fully load.

I've run about 250 rounds through it and cleaned it several times but it keeps happening. I've tried adjusting my grip and even tried to force the error by making my grip way too loose but that didn't work.

I've used mostly winchester target ammo. All brass.

Someone at the range said it might be a weak mag spring. Does that sound plausible? If so, why the hell would these guns ship with sub-par magazines?

Contact the manufacturer for new mags. Or buy more mags that work.

        I haven't tried a new mag yet.
So that does sound like the issue eh?
That's pretty lame. Is this a known issue with these guns?

Not that I know of. I have one and I love it. Did the previous owner keep it loaded?

I just sold my Jericho Baby Eagle .45 to a Calgunner a couple of days ago. It was hard to let it go, but I had other "toys" in mind. I had it for a while and loved it. The gun is flawless, unfortunately, the company that imports them "Magnum Research". Has always made "crappy" mags for them. Even if you buy new mags for it, they will have issues from time to time. They just never got the mags for them to be reliable. This has always been an issue for them and it is only the .45acp mags that have this issue for the BE. The 9mm and .40 seem to have better mags.

Yes, yes it is. Again, the gun itself is great, but they never got the mags right for it.

You say you are shooting target ammo. Is it round nose or another profile like semi wadcutters? The reason I ask is I have a charles daly dda which also is a cz clone and semi wadcutters will do the same thing where it won't fully chamber. It's because of the bullet style. Round nose ammo works perfect. Mark

Pick up a new recoil spring while you're at it and compare it to whats in the pistol now. They're cheap and they're a consumable, you'll need one eventually.

Have you gotten the feedramp polished yet ? That was the problem on my .40cal.

My friend got a 44 deagle recently and he had a lot of jams. Every mag I put through it had zero jams... have you let someone else have a go at it to check for limp wristing?

Also I wouldn't consider it broken in until you have at least 500 rounds through it.

Mags do have dimples but I'm not sure about the markings.
                          Uh, fmj? No idea.

Round nose. It's the 100 round white winchester box.

3 of us got the same jam, including the guy from the range. I even tried to limp-wrist it on purpose but couldn't get it to jam that way.

I'll go ahead and order some clip springs and recoil spring.
Any tips on where to get them?

my buddy suggested using a lapping compound but i wanna see what other ways you can do it are
