quick question

Hey guys,

I have a chance to pick up a Taurus PT 745 C for $250. Should I jump on it, or is there a reason why it might be priced so low (known issues, etc).

The 8lb DA trigger is enough for me to avoid it, especially when other similar sub comp guns are sporting 4-5lb triggers. I hear the newer ones can be had in an SA/DA config.

Ah......I know what you're thinking. The Sigma is very easy to mod to get the trigger down to a reasonable weight; is the Taurus trigger of similar design. I have no idea. If you do decide to pick up the 745c, please let us know what you find with the trigger mech.

nah, I have just fired a Sigma before, so I was going to do some mental comparison.

However, if I get it I will let you know what I find.

I think the factory Sigma trigger is rated at around 11lbs.

cool. still undecided. I could:

A) get the gun

B) buy some ammo for my other guns

C) save up a little and pick up a used glock 22 for about $350.

I am thinking of saving for the glock.

I don't know how good this particular Taurus but I do know that Glock makes a good gun and if you can get one for $100 more I would jump on the Glock they are reliable, have lots of aftermarket parts and IMHO a better weapon.

Can't go wrong with the G22, especially for $350! I have nearly 40 handguns but my go to carry gun is the G22; that's how highly I regard the weapon.

Glock is good. The taurus has a lifetime warranty too. So as long as its not trashed and scratched to hell it would be a good deal. But 350 for a glock is great around here. 525 used for us in cali

Or, you could save your money and get a XD. Glocks are excellent guns, as are XDs. I like the XD better.

Yep; never thought anyone could improve on the Glock design (although many have tried) until I shot the XD. I own 7 Glocks but will add XD's to my inventory as disposable cash allows. They have better triggers out of the box than Glocks.
