can you put a magazine sled with a mag lock on a 1911 to import it as single shot?

I just picked up a stainless Caspian frame...so I'll be asking a lot of the same questions. I've got a thread going in the handguns forum about it with a few links, books and threads that may be helpful to ya. It's my first time with a 1911 as well...

Why couldn't the OP just start with an 80% complete frame and finish it? I saw some of these for sale at a gun show...

They could...but that's more machining...something I don't know how to do. But would want to learn! ...but, the tools would cost even more.

It is fun, frustrating, trying and in the end, satisfying. It is a learning experience, read the Kuhnhausen book, ask questions, listen to those that will share their knowledge. Then share with those that were in your shoes.
