    Glock 22 RTF KaBOOM?

Just bought one and was wandering how true this is?

Is it necessary to buy a new barrel?

I couldn't open the link for some reason. What was the cause of the dreaded, "Glock Kaboom"? I just traded my Sig P229 for a Glock 27 (currently in jail) and I'm hearing another Kaboom.

I have shot 11K rounds (8K factory and 3K of my own reloads) through my G35 (factory barrel) and g22 (Bar-Sto and factory barrels) with no issues...

I had the same concerns as a new Glock shooter, the majority of problems seem to be with reloads (overcharged) or with shooting lead in the factory barrel...rest assured that unless you get an (extremely rare) factory overcharge or a bad handload you are OK.

I am diligent in double-checking my powder measures, just in case. The .40SW case, pressures, and Glock factory barrel chamber support are not forgiving of mistakes.

Any gun can kaboom if using bad ammo. I have to say that my Glock 17 is the only gun that I own that has kaboomed using good ammo.

Overally, I trust Glocks (although I don't prefer them). You just don't want to shoot non-jacketed lead bullets through the factory barrel due to rapid and excessive lead build-up.
