Hey guys, does anybody know of a store in the bay area that stocks Les Baer 1911's? I really want to check one out but have not found a single store that carries them in stock. I am located in Napa but am willing to travel a little ways. Thanks for any help!

Canyon sports has Baers in stock pretty much all the time. They don't move many because of the high prices. I would buy through Proload and do the FFL through Metco in Fairfield. They only charge $80.00 and no tax. Good people there. I have a TRS and a Permier II you can shoot if you like. I should be able to make it to USI in Concord tomorrow afternoon if interested. Sammy -
wow sammy thanks for the offer. I wont be able to make it tomorrow but I will remember that. Its good people like you that make this forum great!Comment

just out of curiousity sammy, which do you like better...the TRS or the Premier II? I am leaning twoards the TRS just based on what I have seen on the internet, never actually seen one in real life so I am looking for insight.Comment

I'm not Sammy but to help you out between the differences:
TRS vs PII respectively:
Dehorned vs not dehorned
TRS thin grips vs standard full checkered grips
solid vs 3-hole trigger
Fixed Champion night sights vs. adjustable sights
Checkered vs serrated MSH
matt blued strongside safety vs wide paddle ambi safety
LB logo vs. Caliber marking on left side
Thunder Ranch Special vs. LB logo on right side
Everything else regarding the gun is the same. Do you prefer to have a fixed sight gun you can carry or a range gun you can adjust to tailor towards your load?Comment

Reed's in Santa Clara not only has the TRS for sale, but they also have it as a rental firearm. If you rent it and then decide to buy it, you can apply the rental fee towards the purchase. I'm really happy with mine.
Reed's also has the SRP and Premier II.Originally posted by G. Michael HopfHard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.Comment

Black Majik beat me to it. Overall they are the same gun. The TRS has thin grips that I changed out for the standard grips. The sights are much smaller on the TRS but they give a great sight picture and I am very accurate with it. I perfer the PII for general shooting but if I could only have one it would be the TRS.
Tom, I will be going out to USI this weekend. If you can make it PM me and we can get together. Ammo can be difficult to find but I can kick you down a box of my loads to try. SammyComment

I have a Premier II and really like it, adjustable sights and all. If I ever can afford another Baer Pistol it will be the TRS. I have seen both in stock at Reed's Indoor Range. If you can wait a bit try ProLoad Distributors in Idaho. He has just about anything you would want in a Les Baer. John is great to talk to also and as you can tell that is who I bought mine from and had it shipped to Rogers Relics.Rudy N
