Greetings all,
I picked up the MC Operator and went straight to the range. I used my Otis kit to clean the bore; whatever factory "preservative" was in there came out black. I decided to leave the factory lube on the rails, but because it seemed pretty dry, I did add a drop of oil on the barrel at the bushing flare and a drop on the hood where it meets the slide. I racked it about 10 times and wiped off the excess.
I ran roughly 200 rounds through it, mostly 230gr ball and some Federal 230gr jhp HST +P and the pistol preformed flawlessly with both the factory and Chip McCormick magazines. Needless to say, it shoots better than I can hold it. The group in the picture was two eight round mags at about 12 yards. I wasn't shooting rapid fire; I was starting to press the trigger as soon as I regained focus on the front sight and acquired the target, probably one shot every two to three seconds -maybe semi-rapid fire, if you will.
In any event, I'm thrilled with the pistol, it is worth every penny and I'm betting that as it breaks in, it will only get better. I haven't yet put the trigger pull gauge on it, but when I do I'll update this post.

If I had to criticize anything about the gun, it would be the sights. For those who have Springfield Armory night sights, they probably know what I'm referring to. The tritium inserts have silver rings around them, which pick up way too much glare and really detract from the sight picture, especially when the light at the range is from directly behind and above. I noticed that the glare wasn't so bad in some of the other lanes. I'm going to replace the sights with Heinie Straight Eights as soon as I can.
For those of you considering an MC Operator, I'd say go for it! I feel that they are one heck of a lot of pistol for the money.
If anyone in the SD area has a Ransom rest and would be willing to meet me at P2K range, I'd love to see what this thing would do a 25 and 50 yards with some high quality ammo!
Best,
Michael
