Okay, I asked a couple questions in the picture thread that were answered already, but I'm still confused a little, so I thought I'd move it out here.
I want install a different muzzle device on my Draco AK pistol, but I thought threaded barrel's on pistols was a no-no here. I don't want to temporarily create an AW when I take the barrel nut off and replace it with my brake AND if I replace it with the brake, but DON'T tac-weld the new brake into place.
I was told that it's fine, because the AK pistol has a fixed magazine, which negates all of the "evil feature" problems.
Well, if that's the case, then why do they have to tac-weld the nut on there in order to DROS it? Also, if there are no "evil feature" problems, then why don't people put forward grips on their AR/AK pistols?
I have read the PC on this, but maybe there is another piece I am missing? (I'm assuming there is)
Can someone please point out the relevant PC and/or just explain real quick-like? Thanks!
Notwithstanding PC section 12276, assault weapon shall
also mean the following: Pistols
(4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a
detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.
(B) A second handgrip.
(C) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the
barrel that allows the bearer to fire the weapon without burning his or
her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.
(D) The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location
outside of the pistol grip.
(5) A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.
