      A big stupid no.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

          No.

You would think a difference in color or a grip would not make a difference, but this is California.

The difference in color obviously makes it significantly more dangerous... so you can understand why it wouldn't be on the safe handgun list. You wouldn't want any children killed by this unsafe handgun would you? How many children's lives is your favorite color and grip style worth???

Actually it comes down to money. Cali gets to extort the annual fee from the manufacturer for every single model they have on the list. You can't buy the one with the different color because of money, that is all. Once California has extorted the money for that specific model with your favorite color and grip from the manufacturer, then you can buy it.

                      I say YES.

PC 12131.5 (a) (1) specifically allows for differences in finish

In the DROS worksheet, after entering the rostered model, the finish of the handgun must be manually entered, thereby allowing for variations in finish to the roster.

CADOJ has taken the position that 12131.5 would allow Taurus to add a color variation to the roster by just paying the yearly listing fees, without having to do the drop-testing.

I don't think that 12131.5 allows for an FFL to decide on his own that the model he is selling falls under the 12131.5 exemption.

As an example, The Roster suit that CGF brought deals with that exact situation. One of the plaintiffs wants a specific color XD that isn't Rostered, even the same XD is Rostered in a couple other color versions.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
