    opinions on Light/laser combo

sorry if this thread already exists, didn't see one. I just got a new XD-9 service and want to get a light/laser combo for home defense (and who am i kidding... plinking at the range too). ideally, i'd like to be able to use light and laser both independently and together.
i have a limited budget, probably around $200
heres what i've looked at so far:

    streamlight TLR-2
    sig sauer STL-900L
    insight M6, X2L

i'm leaning towards the TLR-2, but would definitely appreciate any input or other suggestions.

    thanks

I've had both the TLR-2 and a Viridian X5L(green laser).

As much as I wanted to like them, I could just not get into them, I have found that I much prefer a simple light.

As far as your choices go I would go with the TLR-2. It was a solid well built unit, with a good light and nice laser.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

TLR-2, light-weight durable body (metal), toggle switches for momentary on/off or steady on/off.

you would be really happy with the tlr-2 its well made and it has a toggle switch that allows you to use either 1) light only 2) laser only and 3) light and laser.

another vote for the tlr 2 ... they are very well made, cheap and the light is really bright...

BTW, what's the best price for a TLR2? I don't thinking this is threajack because it'd help the OP make his decision. I think it's cheaper than the M6 hence making the choice easier.

Thanks for the input, guys, the TLR-2 is looking like a winner. best price i've seen is $219 new with free shipping.

Vin, i'm assuming you don't have either anymore? If you do, would you be willing to part with them? I really like the viridian - especially that the laser is above the light (closer to bore axis) - but they're a little above my price range...

unless i got one used (hint, hint)

I'd get the TLR-2. But I was just wondering is this your first handgun? If it is, I suggest you practice a plenty with just the sights it comes with. Especially for home defense, you cant rely on battery-operated products to function 100% of the time. It may crap out on you when you need it the most. Just sayin...

lol, no need to rub it in.

My dog misses the Viridian, red lasers don't do squat for her, but that green beam drove her insane.

hmmm... never shot any of them, only laser grips, which i was not a fan of. any suggestions on something lighter? or just night sights? i've considered the idea of some TFO's in addition/instead
