anyone take any training classes with these guys up in nor-cal? I have been looking at taking some handgun courses from them.

Happy to shop there. Won't shoot there any more. Far too many range safety issues to feel comfortable.

I am thinking the classes would be better supervised than the regular weekday range hours...hopefully.

I took the basic handgun class there before buying my first handgun(Which I also bought there). I believe his name is Matt, he taught me a lot, was really cool and had some great stories. I would definitley recomend them.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish by taking the class, and what is your experience?

There are a ton of different handgun courses out there that cover everything from basic handgun safety to tactical to competition.

Any range safety issues you are talking about I assume boil down to people who are renting handguns, so they are often less experienced, and the fact that Bullseye doesn't babysit everyone the entire time. They often just do random walk throughs. If they see anyone do something stupid they will say something of course, but they aren't watching you the entire time. That's based on my experience there.

I'm sure any class they would provide would have none of those concerns.

What exactly are you looking for? If you can drive to where AngelDecoys is, he might be able to help you. When I first started shooting he went over the basics, sight and trigger control and I noticed a good difference in the way I was shooting before and after.

I have taken two classes there and have enjoyed both of them very much. The first one I took with fiance' and it was instructed by Jim. The second one was there intermediate pistol and it was one on one with Matt. I felt as though both of them offered great instruction in the classroom and in the range. I would recommend these classes to anyone.

I took an introductory course there from Bill. Great start, highly recommended. I also enjoy shooting there about once a week. Nice people. I do wish for a bit more oversight though, some of the other shooters have made me nervous, but not enough to stop going.

By far the best hour of instruction I have ever had was from a friend of a friend who trains LEOs for a living. I can send info if you PM me.

as far as taking classes I have no experience, I bought my first handgun back in march and have put 2k rounds through it as of now. I feel confident in my safety skills as they have been taught to me since I was little, and my shooting I feel is in the average to good range ( at least compared to my buddies who also own handguns who I consistently outshoot). I just dont want to waste my money on a basic handgun safety/beginner course when I would benefit from maybe the intermediate course. I only say this because I dont really know what to expect. the courses I would be interested in would be self defense mainly and possibly a few tactical classes but self defense would be my main focus.
