I usually shoot there but their prices are getting pretty high. If I'm back home I'd probably go to the L.A. Gun Club rahter than La Puente just because of price. L.A. Gun Club is an all day fee while La Puente is per hour.

I shoot there once in a while. It's a 25 yard range. They charge by the hour. NO WOLF AMMO, and no exposed lead ammunition. It's usually not very busy. Staff is laid back.

Might be worth that one year $275 membership if you shoot a lot.

LA Puente is pretty good, except for the ventilation, sometimes seems like it doesn't work. I walk out, and my snot is black. :P

6th and Alameda just south of downtown (little tokyo). i tend to stay away friday, sat nights.. wrong crowd. if you reload, there's a big sign in the hot zone about picking up brass.

If your in the LA area you should check out SHARPSHOOTERS in TORRANCE.
They have great people and prices.

I shoot at LPFR mostly because it's not too far from me, I know the staff and the place is clean and laid back. I usually go there once a month to shoot for a couple of hours. But I do agree about the ventilation and black snot, lol. I use to go to LA Gun Club alot but the range and lanes seem too small and compact and, it seems to always be full of people. And yes esp on weekends, there are alot of "wrong crowd" people there. Just the location alone being in downtown LA in the back of the alley districts is bad enough, then you see the people there. I think alot of gang bangers go there to practice their drive by skills. I would never go there with my arsenal. I only go there to rent whne choosing a new pistol before buying since they have a good selection. LAPD is usually there on weekend nights for obvious reasons. It's just not a laid back or safe place to shoot your own guns. Sometimes I go to the Brea shooting range but it's a very small range and hard to bring alot of guns or things since the back table is limited. Has anyone gone to the one in Artesia? I haven't been there but some friends have recommended it. I wonder how it compares to LPFR.

6th and Mateo. LA Gun Club really blows, maybe I shouldnt have told you. Save yourself the grief and go to one of the others.

I used to go to La Puente a lot, not much these days. I'm more into Insight now.

Insight is my favorite indoor range but I haven't been there in a while (too out of the way for me). Sharpshooters is pretty cool too. Firing line in Burbank is alright but the parking sucks.

As for LA Gun Club, I tend to avoid that place as well.

                          La Puente Shooting Range

I have been shooting at this range since they first opened 16 years ago, the owner Ni, is a really nice and knowledgeable guy. As long as you mind your own business, it can be a pleasent place to shoot. They rent all types of handguns and the prices are pretty competitive with other ranges.

I have to agree with you it is a pretty good place to shoot. The staff is good and its right on my way home.

They do have an excelent selection of guns to rent to try out in you are in the market.

la puente is the only indoor range i frequent with regularity. used to go to sharpshooters during my lunch hour, liked the facilities and staff, but i changed jobs. started going to LAX range during my lunch hour, but i can't stand their attitude and ammo policy.
