    Ruger SR9

Going to be picking one of these up in a couple weeks... any thoughts? stories? comments? experiences?

besides the typical "get a glock" responses.

ruger centerfire pistols are great and very under rated for their quality. They are built kind of loose but that adds to its reliability. congrats on the purchase. very good bang for the buck too.

17 rd mags too... plus i love how thin it is. Along with the fact that i love external safeties.

if you are legally able to own one yes. very good firepower rating on the SR9. ties the Glock 17 but loses to the offlist XDM9 which has 19 rnd capacity.

Thin is good, I am a Glock fan, but it is nice to see a trend back to thin and away from "block".

and since i'm tall i tend to shoot low.. so i like the fact that it has adjustable sights

that does look good, price same as glocks.

If they offered a compact in that model I wouldn't have any Glocks. There is no reason to buy a 9mm with a full length grip in CA when we are limited to 10 round mags.
