PPT on a AR Pistol and HSC question

Trying to arrange a PPT on a stripped AR pistol lower, anything I should look out for. Last time I bought a pistol was back in the 90's and it was the BFSC. So I need to get a HSC, can I test for it right before the PPT, or is their a long drawn out process to obtain a HSC.

It's exactly like the BFSC was. They should be able to give you the test before the purchase. I have heard of some place not having the cards, so call ahead.
