    CZ SP-01 9mm

Just got back from Turners today and they had a CZ SP-01 on display there and I liked it! I've gotten tire of the plastic guns and the feel of a solid steel gun feels good. Not saying polymer isn't but I like the option of single action and the precision also that it gives. Kind of felt like the slender feel of a 1911 with the 5 inch barrel and full size grip.

I bought one a while ago, to replace my aging G17 in USPSA production.
      However:
I can't really come to terms with the DA/SA transition
the SA is crap (creep, gritty, hard)
      the factory sights are unusable
the 10 round mags are crap (wont take rounds well within length specs)
I've had reliability problems (might be because of the very heavy factory recoil spring)

So after shooting 1000 rounds or so through it, I ended up getting a G34 instead. I have plans to send it away and have someone do work on it to see it it can get acceptable, but until then I'll stick to my GLOCKs.

I doubt that, since it's not very different from any other CZ I've seen or owned. However, it was about what I expected, since not too many cheap duty-type/style weapons are competition-ready out of the box.

And yes, the G34 I bought instead has had some tuning to be acceptable.

Hell, even my SIG 210s I compete with had to be tuned/modified to be acceptable/usable.

But it's probably just me being picky after all those years of competing, YMMV.

I spotted this pistol at the Turners in Pasadena. I'd like to get one soon but it's a toss up between the Springfield TRP or this one now.

Never owned one myself, but a couple of my friends back home had Tactical Sports and it's a really nice gun for a decent price. Works fine both in USPSA/IPSC type as well as Bullseye type competitions.

A TS was actually used to win the Swedish 25m large caliber Bullseye Championships last year, leaving all the Pardinis, SIG210s, X5/6s behind.

In that price range I prefer the Pardini GT9, but the TS is not a bad choice if it fits you.

The only problem that I've heard of was trigger parts being too soft and changing over time.

Yeah, I plan to buy one from Bud's Gun Shop. Now I just have to find an FFL with cheap fees, though I'll probably go with Entreprise or Ammo Bros.
