I have a question. I know about buying new hand guns but what about buying a:

used hand gun that is not on the list from in state
used hand gun that is not on the list from out of state
if it is 50 years old from a dealer
if it is 50 years old from a private person

Then with a C&R ffl03:
used hand gun that is not on the list from in state
used hand gun that is not on the list from out of state
if it is 50 years old from a dealer
if it is 50 years old from a private person

if its c&r its exempt from the list and you are able to purchase it. If you have a 03ffl it does nothing for you in state as you still have to go through a 01ffl for pistols, although with a 03ffl you can buy a c&r pistol while visiting another state and import it without having to go through a 01ffl and you can register it with the form thats on the DOJ site.

1. Can be bought via PPT.
2. Can not be imported into CA, unless you have an exemption (LEO/single-shot/intra-familial gift/C&R)
3. Can be bought. 50+ years old = C&R and C&R is exempt from the approved list.
4. See #3. Still needs to go through a CA FFL dealer.
