Oh man, it makes me glad that I have mine, which has turned into my favorite 9mm pistol.

But, I'd be surprised if HK lets their certification expire, when you consider how much they had to pay to get them certified in the first place.

All of the handguns are set to expire. The thing is that they are renewed before they do. There is no way of telling that right away by looking at the approved list.

It would be nice of HK was more helpfull. Maybe you should try calling them.

No, this is California remember? That would be common sense.
I had the same problem when I thought SIG wasn't going to re-submit the P226 in .357SIg, but I was wrong because the CA DOJ didn't update until the last minute.

To be fair to the DOJ I'm pretty sure the pistol doesn't actually have to be re-tested. The manufacturer has to pay the fee's so that the pistol remains on the list. The timing could have something to do with it. So maybe the manufacturer is lagging.

In my opinion, if you want to take nice gun photos, especially close one that need detail and good depth of field, the Nikkor 60mm Micro lens is a must. I generally use only two lenses with my Nikon D100. I use the 60mm Micro for all of my gun photos, and also when I take flower photos. I use a Nikkon 24-85mm G lens for everything else.

Interestingly, the two certified P2000SKs don't indicate a V number, such as V2 or V3.

The 2005 HK catalog indicates that there are LEM and SA/DA versions available, thus the question about the "V" plus digit. RSR, the country's largest firearm distributor, even shows both, though the number in stock of the SA/DA version has been showing zero.

In the future, you can always call to confirm whether or not the specific gun has been renewed. I called in late May and spoke to a gentleman who placed me on hold for about 5 minutes. He came back and said the V3 had been renewed but they hadn't updated on their website yet. Needless to say, I ordered the V3 online and my FFL had it the next day!
