P2000 V3 certification expiring
Collapse

Oh man, it makes me glad that I have mine, which has turned into my favorite 9mm pistol.
But, I'd be surprised if HK lets their certification expire, when you consider how much they had to pay to get them certified in the first place. -
I have the photos. I simply need to prepare the higher-resolution versions before I can add them to my Pistol Wallpaper Page.

All of the handguns are set to expire. The thing is that they are renewed before they do. There is no way of telling that right away by looking at the approved list.
It would be nice of HK was more helpfull. Maybe you should try calling them.Comment

Crap. I bet HK has been waiting for me to update my Pistol Wallpaper Page to include P2000 photos, in order to induce people to buy it.
The update will go live at 9PM (California time).Comment

Update complete. Enjoy!Comment

No, this is California remember? That would be common sense.Originally posted by tooTactical:
Not sure I understand what you mean. Wouldn't DOJ update their site to read 5/10/2006 if HK had sent in their renewal fee?
I had the same problem when I thought SIG wasn't going to re-submit the P226 in .357SIg, but I was wrong because the CA DOJ didn't update until the last minute.Comment

To be fair to the DOJ I'm pretty sure the pistol doesn't actually have to be re-tested. The manufacturer has to pay the fee's so that the pistol remains on the list. The timing could have something to do with it. So maybe the manufacturer is lagging.Comment

Your images are great. You really make me want to go get the 60mm Micro now... Finally talked myself into picking up the 12-24, but if I get one more lens, I'll need a new bag as well.
Not sure if I can hide all that from the wife!

Tonym71, you wrote:In my opinion, if you want to take nice gun photos, especially close one that need detail and good depth of field, the Nikkor 60mm Micro lens is a must. I generally use only two lenses with my Nikon D100. I use the 60mm Micro for all of my gun photos, and also when I take flower photos. I use a Nikkon 24-85mm G lens for everything else. You really make me want to go get the 60mm Micro now...Comment

Interestingly, the two certified P2000SKs don't indicate a V number, such as V2 or V3.Comment

The 2005 HK catalog indicates that there are LEM and SA/DA versions available, thus the question about the "V" plus digit. RSR, the country's largest firearm distributor, even shows both, though the number in stock of the SA/DA version has been showing zero.Comment

good news, I just check doj and it's renewed until 5/10/2006!

In the future, you can always call to confirm whether or not the specific gun has been renewed. I called in late May and spoke to a gentleman who placed me on hold for about 5 minutes. He came back and said the V3 had been renewed but they hadn't updated on their website yet. Needless to say, I ordered the V3 online and my FFL had it the next day!NRA Patron MemberComment
