    Ruger 22 with Pac-Lite barrels

im looking into buying a ruger 22 and gettin a pac lite barrel for it. can these barrels be swapped by me personally, or would i have to take it in for a gunsmith to do it.

Unless they've changed the barrels then you can't buy them here. The problem is the Ruger serial number is on the upper so by changing uppers you are actually buying a new gun and it's not on the list.

I thought about one a few years ago myself as they looked really impressive.

Ya, I even bought a 22/45 in anticipation of a lightweight build when Paclite thought they might get listed...really too bad.

I want my purple fluted upper!

      ...for my wife of course
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

Don't they sell the barrels seperately? I could have sworn I've seen that on their site.
I'd like one as well for my Buck Mark.
Too few guns and bikes, not enough camera gear, too many computers and bills, never enough time.

Yes, they sell them to FFL's but not in California. The upper on a Mark II or III is the serial numbered part. It is the gun.

I emailed Tactical Solutions with a few questions about the Ruger replacements. I asked if I could get them to swap out my stock barrel with one of theirs, like for like (except being aluminum), if my barrel was seriously messed up and could be discarded afterward. I figured that I could arrange a serious Dremel accident for the stock setup in order to get one of theirs...

Their answer..... no. However if I lived in almost any other state I could just by the whole top end no problem.
For Ruger there seems to be only one Ca. legal replacement, from Volquartsen. Sadly only the non-comped version in Ca. legal to import into state.

Tac Sol sells complete uppers for the ruger series 22 pistols. Thats the receiver and barrel together as it is considered a gunsmith job to rebarrel a ruger MKII/III. And as others have stated, the upper is considered the firearm on the ruger .22 pistols.

For only barrels they sell them for the browning buckmark series rifles/pistols and the 10/22.

So how about this then, Have TS make a 10" BBL with a 6" extension on it and sell it as a rifle kit with a buttstock that attaches to the grip frame???
