    Question from a Neophyte

    Hello fellow Cal Gunners,

I have an On-Roster p229 (Enhanced Elite). I want to replace the slide with a Sig PRO slide, no LCI. Does anyone know if that is legal, if so, could I put it on a CCW? I would really appreciate any/all guidance offered.

    Thanks for your time,

It is legal to change the slide on your pistol.

If it is allowed on the handgun listed on your CA CCW permit is up to your issuing agency to decide.
Each is legally issuing agency is allowed to determine their own policy & procedure for determining what they will approve to be listed on the CA CCW permit they issue.
^Knowing the issuing agency involved is important information to disclose regarding this topic.

If you ask your agency, be aware that they might want you to re-qualify with the new slide...which is silly, of course, but some IA's are like this.
