    Appendix carry holsters

I'm looking for appendix carry holsters for a Glock 27 and a S&W M&P. I've looked into blach arch holsters, tier 1 concealment and crossbreed. I've owned several crossbreed holsters, but I have never appendix carried. I'm curious how well the full-size M&P would conceal.

    Thanks for the input.

I really like my JM custom kydex with claw and pad for my G23. Comfortable and really hides it well.

Of the holsters I have for appendix carry, my tier 1 concealed is the most comfortable. I all fairness though the others are on the cheap side

I've tried a number of IWB holsters over the years, includes ones listed above and others that aren't on here but are very good quality.

IMO, the Tier 1 Concealed is the most comfortable and best positioning holster for me (my body) either either my P365 or a G19 with light and magwell. Of course their quality holsters come with a premium but like most parts (not all, but most), buy once & cry once.

While it's hard to try different holsters out as they all fit differently for everyone, you may end up with a handful of holsters that are ok but not really better than the other, and in the end you will have spent as much of more than buying that one solid holster.

Everyone is different so you'll have to try and see what works.

I've used a tier 1 xyphos, phlster pro, bravo concealment for my Glock 26. After all those I finally settled on a tenicor velo4. It's got a built in wedge which helps with grip tuck.

For my shield I tried a tulster and anr designs. Tulster was good but I had to add a wedge. Again I got a tenicor velo4 and have sold all the rest.

Tenicor works for me. YMMV. Also they're not cheap but can sometimes be found used.

I went with Static advice Enigma+Tulster Oath for deep concealment and now with jacket-tulster on Kore belt.

I'm running a 4.25" M&P Core (Gen 1), w/a Trijicon 06 red dot in a JM Custom AIWB-WC holster w/pad...and it's no problem concealing it. The holster is excellent. I'm running it with soft loops which I greatly prefer over clips but YMMV.

I've also heard really good things about Tenicor but don't have any direct experience with them.

And Tier 1 probably makes the best "sidecar" holster if you want to go that route. But the problem with a sidecar holster if you're new to Appendix, is that it may not be for you. It's a little bit of an acquired taste...I think. But if you don't like it, that doesn't mean appendix carry won't be for you. Sidecar holsters are really different animals than regular appendix holsters. So keep that in mind if you end up getting one and don't care for it or carrying at centerline. But Tier 1's are very popular so it should be an easy sale if you decide you don't like it.

One suggestion-it doesn?t matter what holster you choose for AIWB carry, tune your holster to your body. Very important. There are tons of videos and images on how to do it. Here is thread where I share my tuning https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1896987

I have tried multiple brands and types with the exception of the "side car" style ones, like T1C or T-Rex. I found that no matter which one I got, it just wasn't comfortable AIWB. Like Palmaris states tuning and finding the right spot is important and I tried the wedges ranging from DIY to buying kits; still wasn't comfortable enough to want to AIWB.

I found the T.U.C. holster from North Coast Tactical (similar to JX Tactical's Fat Guy Holster) was probably the best for for me as far as AIWB but still wasn't as comfortable as I was hoping. Eventually I found a company called Mastermind Tactics who makes something they call Appendix Carry Pillow (the pad one). I didn't believe that it would make AIWB comfortable like some of the reviews I read but when I tried it; I was pleasantly surprised. I only have a couple days of carrying with this pillow but I was able to go all day without it being an issue. I still have hot spots but more tuning I am hoping I find the right spot.
