    CZ 75b v.s. M&P 9

For those of you who have experience with both the CZ 75B & and the M&P 9 (full size), which one of these pistols is the softer shooting gun with less perceived recoil & muzzle jump?

I've had a 75B & SP-01 and they were good guns, but now I have an M&P .40 and was amazed at how soft it shot. So now I'm wondering if I should pick up a M&P 9, but if the felt recoil is more than the 75B I might rethink that option.

Although I have never shot the MP9, in my experience, polymer frame guns in general tend to shoot perceptibly "softer" than their steel counterparts regardless of the weight disparity. Poly frame guns dampen recoil to some degree because there is some buffering/flexing involved during the firing. This is most obvious with more powerful chamberings such as the 10mm; I've found the Glock 20 is amazingly soft shooting for such a powerful cartridge.

I have the 75B SA and MP9. I find the CZ to be softer shooting and more accurate.

+1 on CZ75b 9mm. It is both very accurate and easy to shoot!

I like the CZ's, but I voted for the M&P.

          Both really nice guns.

I personally liked the M&P more. It's my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions...

You can also get 9mm conversion barrels for your M&P. Mark

I've fired both. My impression was that the M&P had softer recoil.
