    Nighthawk Double Stack

I emailed Nighthawk asking if they were going to add any double stack frames to the roster now that we had movement in the roster case. They replied that it is impossible to add new guns and their current guns are grandfathered from over 15 years ago. I replied that the recent injunction had struck down the microstamping and that several other manufacturers had just added a bunch of new guns to the roster so it is indeed possible. I have not yet gotten another reply.
I figured they'd be more interested in the CA market since they already offer the EGI program for us on their 1911s.

Maybe if enough of us reach out to companies like Nighthawk and Staccato to show them there's enough market to make it worth it, we can get them to actually put some 2011s on the roster for us.

Last time I spoke with a person in their office, they were working on some new projects, and were quite busy. I suspect they are busy enough to make $$ without specific models that cater to legislative needs that may change. Gearing up for that would take considerable time away from orders that are being completed by the small number of gunsmiths that work there.

I own a Nighthawk and a Wilson in 45 acp, why wait when you can own either 1, and 9 rounds of 45 is nothing to laugh at.

Take a look at the single stack might just be another option.

      Good luck.

They'd still need to do a magazine disconnect. That requires way too many modifications to exisiting products to be worth their time.

Shoot. I typed up a reply on my phone and it disappeared. Calguns is too slow on my desktop.

AnyhowsI don?t think a double stack 1911 (2011) makes sense due to the 10 round magazine restriction. 10 round magazines in 45 ACP and 9mm already take your 1911 to the max capacity 10+1. I love nighthawk and they EGI program as much as the next guy. One day when hell freezes over, and we can get regular capacity magazines and the roster goes away, I?ll be first in line for a stacatto P.

            A 10 round magazine in a 2011 is a neutered gun.

            A Sandhawk would be nice.

It is really sad that we gun owners have to deal with such legislative dog crap.
There are so many other options in Free America, it makes me sick.
I really like our NHC sidearms. There are a few more I would like to get.

Is it really that difficult to put a notch with an arm on a slide with the laser engraved warning? The magazine disconnect is even easier - just an extra tab on the trigger and magazine release that blocks the trigger if there's no magazine inserted, exactly how they do it on the Browning 1911-22.

Zero modifications to any existing frames or slides. They would need to manufacture a single new slide with the LCI cut/flag/engraving and install a different trigger/mag release in the existing frames.

Just need to get the frame on the roster. It would be going back for the EGI treatment anyways, so no modifications needed to any existing product lines.

Maybe I'm alone in my opinion, but I would rather have the 2011 on the roster now so I can enjoy it with blocked mags in the meantime until we get our standard capacity magazines once Duncan is finally settled.

The challenge is the magazine safety with the 1911 design.

I think there is a better chance that folks like Franklin Armory take those modulator 2011 frames and attached a blocked polymer lower.

Then the buyer could attach any aftermarket 2011 lower of their desire.

Franklin went to all that work for the 320 only to have it pulled out from under them.
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

They will not abominate a 1911 especially a high end one, with mag disconnect safety and CLI. And thank God for that.
