    Smith Wesson Quality Control

Small sample size, but I?ve had trouble with 2 of the 3 modern S&W revolvers I?ve had. One of the problematic ones was also a performance center. I will never buy a modern S&W revolver again.

Most of my issues have been with light primer strikes, but this however is on a whole other level failure:

The guy in the video was the problem. Why was he waving the firearm around with the hammer back??????? Not waving it big, but very inappropriate handing, very very unsafe. I'm pretty sure I saw his finger touch the trigger for the first discharge. Why was he even videoing, doing stuff like this. A setup?
People need to learn how to shoot firearms safely. That guy wasn't safe. Even if it turns out that there is a problem with the gun, none of those discharges in the video showed safe gun handling. I couldn't make it all the way through, he was so unsafe.
There is much more, but that shooter was just plain not safe.

Yes, I have several S&W PC handguns. Yes, the quality is often not as good as it should be. That doesn't excuse unsafe gun handling.
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

you'd think after the initial discharge, he'd learn safer practices with that particular gun, but the second one was even worse.

I have heard of recent problems with the S&W revolvers but unfortunately, I only have a sample size of one for you.

I have not bought any revolvers is in a very, very long time in fact, sold everything I had Off as far as wheel guns.

But in the last year, I bought both an S&W and a Colt.

Few months ago bought a 629 Performance Center revolver, the one with the short barrel.

I love it! Zero issues. Great fit and finish and an awesome trigger.

Not wild about the Hillary Hole or the MIM hollowed out trigger etc.but that will be rectified when I get it to Smith for a couple things I want done on it.

Prior to that, I had a hankering for a Colt night cobra.

I?ve never been a colt revolver guy, and I saw all the recent problems that people are having with cobras and current generation pythons.

Mine would be different, of course.

        I never learn.

Worked fine for a while and then started locking up or action would work and but hammer wouldn?t move. Just cylinder rotating weird stuff going on with it.

Sent it in and Colt fixed it right away and it was fine.

But just had a bad feeling about it. Plus I tried like four different grips and the thing always felt like crap in my hand.

        Sold it. Good riddance.

Seriously doubt I will ever buy a new colt revolver again.

Since then dad gave me his 1972 manufacture python 4 inch.

        That?s Mo better

I’ve bought 3 s&w revolvers in the last 4 years. 2 performance center, all of them had to go back to s&w. **** quality control.

I have recently sent back a Ruger Blackhawk, a S&W 586 and a S&W 25. All for over torqued barrels leading to canted front sights.

On top of that the Blackhawk had a tremendous amount of rust.

There for a while it was so bad that my FFL joked that when a gun came in for me he automatically started the return paperwork.

I have given up on new S&W's. If I can find a used one I may buy it. If not I will still to my 50 year old revolvers.

I have zero confidence in anything new coming out of S&W, revolver or semi.

Safe gun handling is still important.

I agree that there are dumb gun youtubers. I only watch gun jesus regularly, and Garand Thumb sometimes just because Charlie is pretty funny. Sometimes Mark Novak if he's doing something interesting.

That being said, in a forest for the trees way of looking at things: removing the weird "why is this guy dressing up like an operator in a video about an S&W revolver" aspect, and some less then ideal muzzle control.... the video does indeed appear to show a S&W revolver firing without a finger on the trigger.

the only semi that has had issues, cases, and evidence all over youtube and elsewhere are the sigs, but we know how people lined up for that and how they made up excuses and performed mental gymnastics to justify the fact that they want to buy the shiny new product

It looks to me like the video jumps as he swings the gun past his leg. I can't tell for sure, but it looks edited.
No matter what else, the first thing is see is some extremely stupid gun handling.
It would be interesting to actually examine the revolver. I used to shoot ICORE, so I'm more familiar than the average guy when it comes to a S&W revolver.

My new 500 Magnum has been fine, but my brand-new model 69 failed after the first shot. Sent it back and it's been returned after repairs but haven't had a chance to take it out yet. Not confidence inspiring for sure.

You'd think that after the first accidental discharge the guy would have enough sense to not play around..maybe the first one that hit his head rang his bell a little too much.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
